皆様、はじめまして。

 

現在は高知県高知市で宿泊業とキッチンカーによる飲食業を行っている坪内 順兵と申します。

 

 

この度のプロジェクトを通して、私は四国遍路の素晴らしさ、そして地域の魅力をより多くの人々に知っていただきたいと考えています。

 

私は高知県の遍路道、難所への入り口に位置するありがたい宿の存続を危惧しています。

 

その宿は豊かな自然に囲まれた安田町にあります。

 

 

目の前には広がる海、背後にはそびえ立つ山々、そしてすぐそばには清らかな川が流れ、まさに自然の恵みを満喫できる場所です。

 

 

 

 

この絶景の中で27番札所神峯寺への険しい山道の麓に位置し、多くの巡礼者にとって、旅の疲れを癒やす憩いの場として親しまれてきました。

 

実は宿として現在運営されておりますが、元々この施設は結婚式と進水式を行う会場だったのです。

 

 

旧オーナーがお遍路さんのことを想って宿に改築され、現オーナーに変わってからもこれまで精力的に運営されてきました。

 

しかし、残念ながら、諸般の事情によりこの宿をそろそろ手放すことを考えていて、閉業の危機に瀕しています。

 

この状況を目の当たりにし、私はこのままこの貴重な宿が消えてしまうことをどうしても見過ごすことができませんでした。

 

そこでこの宿を譲り受け、現オーナーの想いを未来へと繋いでいくため、クラウドファンディングに挑戦することにいたしました。

 

現オーナーも今回の挑戦に賛同しており、クラウドファンディングを行うことの許諾を頂いております。

 

そして2025年の夏頃には譲渡して頂ける予定です。

 

皆様からの温かいご支援は、土地と建物の譲渡費用だけでなく、老朽化した建物の改修などに充てられます。

 

残念ながら、こちらに宿泊した方から「客室の老朽化」や「水回りなどの汚れ」などに関する声を聞いたことがあります。

 

そこで、これらの問題点を改善し、より快適な宿になるよう努めます。

 

今回のプロジェクトは、単に一軒の宿を存続させるだけでなく、これまでの歴史を未来へと繋げ、四国遍路文化の継承に繋がると信じています。

ここからわたくしの詳しい自己紹介をさせて頂きます。やや長文なので興味のある方だけお読みください。

 

生まれは高知県で、学生時代は勉強よりも川遊びやスポーツ、ゲームなどで友達と遊ぶことばかりしていました。

 

小学生の時に衝撃を受けたことがあり、それは甲子園球場で開催されていた高校野球の中継を見ていた時です。

 

 

星稜高校の松井選手が5打席連続敬遠という屈辱的な経験にも関わらず、冷静さを失わず、チームのために最後まで戦い抜いた姿に、私は大きな感動を受けました。

 

その姿は私にとって、どんなことがあっても感情を露わにするのではなく、忍耐強く最善を尽くすということを教えてくれました。

 

松井選手の姿や、学生時代の部活動を通して大人になるまでに忍耐力は鍛えられたと思います。

 

ただ肝心の勉強と将来設計を疎かにしたまま大人になってしまいました。

 

社会人として働き始めた当初は、自分の知識や経験の不足を痛感し、社会の厳しさを実感しました。

 

 

特に職場のホームページをリニューアルするというプロジェクトを担当した際、自分の知識不足により苦労した経験があり、その経験からスキルを身につける必要性を感じました。

 

それからは休日や通勤、休憩時間などを活用して勉強することで知識と技術が身につき、少しずつ現状を変えていきました。

 

そして、積極的に学び、スキルアップすることで、自分の可能性を広げることができると実感しました。

 

しかし、必死になると結果や信頼もついてきましたが、それに伴い妬みや誤解なども生まれ、辛い時期も味わってきました。

 

それらを乗り越え起業する夢が膨らみ続けるも、安定のために社会人を続けていました。

 

この時期は夢から遠のく日々に気持ちが沈んだままで仕事のやる気を失っていました。

 

それでも自身の努力で変化を起こせることを学んだ経験を思い出し、一度塞いでしまった大志を蘇らせることができました。

 

色々と時間はかかりましたが、2020年末、自己実現を果たすためにようやく会社員から個人事業主に環境を変化させました。

 

会社員最後の頃にひょんなことから始めた遍路旅が一歩を踏み出すきっかけになりました。

 

そして、遍路道を歩きながら、自然の美しさ、人々の温かさに触れ、多くの人々にこの素晴らしい体験をしてほしいという想いから、遍路宿を開くことにしました。

 

大変ありがたいことに現在は国内の方や多くの外国の方達に遍路宿としてご宿泊頂いております。

 

またキッチンカーでメニューを創意工夫しながら、高知県のイベントなどに出店するなどの事業も行っております。

 

 

 

  「本当に事業承継者を探しているんだ！」

 

2024年6月初旬、SNSで拡散されている今回の遍路宿の事業承継の投稿を見ました。

 

 

拡散者はオーナーさんではなく、お遍路さんのためにボランティア活動を熱心にしている方です。

 

その方のおかげでこの度の募集を知ることが出来ました。

 

SNSの投稿に貼られていたURLをクリックすると、四国経済産業局の委託により商工会議所が運営している高知県事業承継・引継ぎ支援センターのWebページの記事に辿りつきました。

 

以前、お遍路宿のオーナー繋がりで噂には聞いていたのですが、事業承継を募集している具体的なWebページを見て、

 

「本当に探していたのだ！」

 

と知ることが出来ました。

 

現在わたくしが運営している宿は、2024年の春からお遍路さんが増えてきたおかげで、部屋数およびベッド数が不足している状態が発生するようになりました。

 

いつか規模を拡大したいと思っていたところ、今回の事業承継の募集を知りました。

 

既にこの宿について紹介しましたが、この宿は高知県の遍路道、険しい山道への入り口に位置する大変ありがたい宿です。

 

 

わたくしはその険しい山道の先にある神峯寺まで歩いて参拝したことがあります。

 

また、車でも登ったことがありますが、その時は車が故障してしまいました。

 

それほど傾斜が険しい山の上にあるお寺なので、これまでも沢山のお遍路さんが山を登る前後に荷物を置き、お参り前後に宿泊されているような宿です。

 

お寺周辺で現在唯一残っている貴重な宿が廃業になれば、さらに先へ歩き続ければならなくなり、これまで以上に困難を極めるお遍路さんが増えるようになります。

 

唯一残っている貴重なこの宿を絶やしてはいけないという想いと、これまでわたくしが経験した遍路宿の運営方法を活かせば、さらにいいサービスを提供することが出来ると思い、事業承継をしたいという想いが強くなりました。

 

ただ、わたくし一人の想いだけでは存続を実現することが難しく、皆様のお力添えを頂きたくこのプロジェクトを立ち上げました。

 

 

 

事業承継にかかる土地と建物の譲渡費用の一部や改修費、設備投資費を寄付で集うことです。

 

 

 

 

四国遍路は年々ますます外国のお遍路さんが増えている一方で、英語対応できる遍路宿は未だに増えておりません。

 

この問題を解決する一助になるためにも、事業承継後は施設改修だけではなく英語対応の遍路宿にします。

 

現在わたくし自身が運営している遍路宿ではホームページからの予約も英語対応しており、外国のお遍路さんから喜ばれています。

 

外国のお遍路さんにとって、宿の予約は何よりも大変ですので、事業承継後は英語のホームページを作ります。

 

そして英語の予約フォームも作り、外国のお遍路さんがストレスなく予約が出来るようにします。

 

また、すでにお伝えしたように、この宿は元々は結婚式および進水式の会場だったので、大きなホールがあり、現在そこを使ってない状態です。

 

 

そのホールを有効活用します。

 

まずテントを持ち歩いているお遍路さんが気軽に宿泊できるよう、有料ではなく、寄付金のみで宿泊できるようにします。

 

特に外国のお遍路さんはテントで寝泊まりするために大きな荷物を背負って巡礼しています。

 

しかし、どこでもテントを設営していいわけではないので、場所を見つけるのに苦労もされています。

 

そのような方々のために室内のホールで、安心してテントを使った宿泊ができるようアプローチしていきます。

 

また遍路旅で疲れ切った身体をほぐせるようにストレッチできる場所など、広い空間を活かして一般的な遍路宿にないものを準備したいと思っています。

 

さらに安田町の豊かな自然で心と身体を癒してもらえるよう、連泊したくなるような魅力を発信していきたいです。

 

例えば、宿の眼下に広がる海岸で波音を聞きながら朝食を食べ、お昼には自転車で少し足を延ばして名産の自然薯に舌鼓したり、翌日は澄み切った川で子供に戻って水遊びを楽しんだり、雄大な山々を背景に小鳥のさえずりに耳を澄ませたり。

 

これらの様子をホームページやSNSで発信していき、一泊だけでは味わえない魅力を発信していきます。

 

加えてキッチンカー事業を行っている関係で色んな活動をしている方と繋がっております。

 

それを活かして、遍路宿の閑散期にホールで保護猫譲渡会に伴うマルシェを開催したり、音楽祭などを開催して地域も盛り上げていきたいと思っています。

Hello everyone.

 

My name is Junpei Tsubouchi, and I currently operate a lodging business and a food truck in Kochi City, Kochi Prefecture.

 

 

Through this project, I aim to share the wonders of Shikoku Pilgrimage and the charms of our local area with more people.

 

I am deeply concerned about the future of a precious inn located at the entrance to a challenging section of the pilgrimage route in Kochi Prefecture.

 

 

Nestled in the abundant nature of Yasuda Town, this inn boasts stunning views of the ocean, towering mountains, and a crystal-clear river.

 

 

 

 

It serves as a much-needed resting place for many pilgrims, situated at the foot of the arduous path to the 27th temple, Kōnomineji Temple.

 

Although the facility is currently operated as an inn, it was originally built as a venue for weddings and ship launching ceremonies.

 

 

 

The previous owner renovated it into an inn with pilgrims in mind, and the current owner has continued to operate it vigorously.

 

However, due to personal reasons, it is facing the risk of closure.

 

Witnessing this situation, I couldn't bear the thought of losing this valuable place.

 

Inspired by the current owner's passion, I am determined to keep this inn alive and thriving.

 

To make this dream a reality, I am launching a crowdfunding campaign to take over the property and continue its legacy.

 

Your generous support will allow me to preserve this historic pilgrimage lodging and create a space that is both comfortable and inspiring.

 

I have heard from past guests regarding the aging condition of the rooms and the cleanliness of the toilets.

I was born in Kochi Prefecture and, as a student, I spent most of my time playing in the river, playing sports, and playing games with my friends rather than studying.

 

When I was in elementary school, I was deeply moved by Japan's most prestigious high school baseball tournament I watched on TV.

 

 

Despite facing the humiliation of being intentionally walked five times in a row, Mr Hideki Matsui remained calm and fought until the end for his team.

 

His actions taught me the importance of perseverance and doing my best, regardless of the circumstances.

 

Notably, Matsui went on to have a successful career in Major League Baseball with the New York Yankees.

 

Thanks to Matsui's example and my involvement in club activities during my school years, I believe I developed a strong sense of perseverance by the time I became an adult.

 

However, I neglected my studies and future plans, which came back to haunt me later.

 

When I started working, I realized how lacking my knowledge and experience were, and I experienced the harsh realities of the working world.

 

 

Especially when I was in charge of renovating our company's website, I struggled due to my lack of knowledge and realized the need to acquire new skills.

 

From then on, I dedicated my spare time to studying, gradually improving my knowledge and skills.

 

I realized that by actively learning and improving myself, I could expand my possibilities.

 

However, as I worked hard and gained recognition, I also faced jealousy and misunderstandings.

 

Having surmounted these obstacles, I nurtured a growing ambition to start my own business.

 

Nonetheless, I chose the security of corporate employment.

 

Feeling lost and unmotivated, I almost gave up on my dreams.

 

But remembering how I'd changed things before, I reignited my passion.

 

Finally, in late 2020, I quit my job to pursue my dreams.

 

A spontaneous pilgrimage gave me the courage to start this new chapter.

 

Having been profoundly touched by the natural beauty and human kindness I experienced while traversing the pilgrimage route, I was motivated to establish a pilgrimage lodge, with the aim of providing others with the opportunity to partake in this enriching experience.

 

I am grateful that many people, both domestic and international, have stayed at my small guest house.

 

I also operate a food truck, where I create new and innovative dishes and participate in various events in Kochi Prefecture.  

 

 

 

"They were really looking for someone!"

 

I came across a social media post that said, "We're desperately seeking a successor for this lodging."

 

 

The post was shared by a volunteer who passionately supports pilgrims.

 

Thanks to him, I learned about this opportunity.

 

I had heard rumors about this business succession before, but seeing the specific web page made me realize.

 

"Due to a surge in pilgrims since the spring of 2024, my inn has been facing a shortage of rooms and beds.

 

With the goal of expanding our services, I was thrilled to learn about this opportunity for business succession.

 

The lodging in question is situated at the entrance to a steep mountain path on the Shikoku Pilgrimage route in Kochi Prefecture.

 

 

I have personally experienced the challenging climb to the temple at the mountain's peak, both by foot and by car. Unfortunately, when I tried to climb the mountain by car, my car broke down.

 

Given the temple's location high up on a steep mountain, many pilgrims have relied on this inn to leave their belongings and rest before or after their journey.

 

It serves as a vital oasis for weary travelers.

 

If the only remaining valuable lodging around the temple were to close, it would become even more difficult for pilgrims, forcing them to walk further and making their journey significantly more challenging.

 

Driven by a deep desire to preserve this unique place and leverage my experience in operating my guest house, I am determined to take over this business. 

 

However, I cannot achieve this goal without your support, so I launched this project to seek your kind assistance.  

 

By supporting this project, you will be ensuring that the tradition of pilgrimage continues for generations to come.  

 

 

 

Fundraise to cover  the costs for the business succession, including the purchase of land and buildings, renovation costs, equipment investments, and a portion of the initial operating capital.

 

 

 

 

Create a Welcoming Space for Global Pilgrims!  

 

While the number of foreign pilgrims in Shikoku has been increasing year by year, there is still a shortage of pilgrimage inns that offer English language services.

 

To help address this issue, I will provide English language services at this inn after taking over its management.

 

The pilgrimage inn I currently manage has an English-language website, which has been well-received by foreign pilgrims.

 

Since making reservations is often the most challenging part for foreign travelers, I will create an English-language website and reservation form for this inn to ensure a smooth booking process.

 

The inn was originally used for weddings and ship launching ceremonies and has a large, unused hall now.

 

I plan to offer free accommodations to pilgrims who carry their own tents, supported by voluntary donations.

 

Many foreign pilgrims carry large backpacks to accommodate their tents, but finding suitable camping spots can be difficult.

 

By providing an indoor space where they can safely pitch their tents, I aim to create a compassionate lodging for such pilgrims.

 

I also plan to provide facilities like a stretching area to help pilgrims relax their tired bodies, making the best use of the spacious hall.

 

This will offer amenities that are not commonly found in typical pilgrimage inns.

 

Furthermore, to attract guests for longer stays, I will promote the rich natural beauty of Yasuda Town.

 

For example, guests can enjoy breakfast by the sea, cycle to local restaurants to savor the famous Japanese yams, or spend a day swimming in the clear river.

 

I will share these experiences on our website and social media to showcase the unique charm of our inn.

 

Additionally, through my experience in the food truck business, I have connections with various individuals and organizations.

 

I plan to leverage these connections to host events such as adoption fairs for foster cats and music festivals in the hall during the off-season, contributing to the local community.
