【ウクライナ危機】ペットおよびペット同伴家族への緊急支援を開始

日本では狂犬病予防法に基づき、最長180日間、動物検疫所で検査を受けることが義務付けられています。これはウクライナ避難民の方々も例外ではなく、遠い避難先の日本でペットと最大180日間、離れて暮らさなければなりません。さらに1日3000円の餌代や飼育施設の光熱費は飼い主（避難民）が負担することとなり、最大で約54万円の費用がかかります。支払えない場合、殺処分の対象となる可能性があります。

ウクライナ国内でペットおよびペット同伴家族の緊急支援を実施、日本では保護犬事業ピースワンコ・ジャパンを運営しているピースウィンズ・ジャパンは、ウクライナから日本にペット連れで避難されて来た方々への支援を開始します。

According to Rabies Prevention Law in Japan, it is obligatory for animals to be under inspection in an animal quarantine center for up to 180 days since their arrival to the country.
Ukrainian refugees are not the exception. Apart from fleeing away so far from their homes, they have to be separated with their pets for up to 180 days. Moreover, each day of the quarantine costs 3000 yen, which covers pet food and utility bills of the quarantine facility, and the owner (in this case – a refugee) has to bear these expenses. A total sum for 180 days might reach 540,000 yen. If the owner cannot pay these costs, the pet may be even euthanized.

Peace Winds Japan, an organization, which conducts emergency assistance to pets and families with pets in Ukraine, and manages a rescue dogs project in Japan “Peace Wanko”, is starting its assistance to refugees from Ukraine, who brought their pets to Japan.
