A New cat cafe for new beginnings.
A fresh start for Toto no Mori.

 

The General Incorporated Association “Feline Toto no Mori” is a protected cat organization that operates two shelters and a café in Chiba . To date, we have connected over 900 shelter cats with warm, loving families.

 

One of our key facilities, “Toto no Mori Cat Café”, which served as a hub for connecting many cats to their new families, was suddenly closed in 2022 due to issues with its commercial building. This closure resulted in us losing the vital “bridge” that connected foster parents with shelter cats.

 

In the two years since then, the number of adoptions has halved, while requests for help with kittens born unexpectedly, cats left homeless due to the sudden passing of their elderly owners, and those moving into elderly homes have not stopped. This has been an incredibly challenging period for us.

 

We want to reopen a “protective cat café,” a space that was kind to both cats and people.

 

With that in mind, we searched for a new property and, thankfully, received a generous offer from the adoptive family of “Kanon”, a former shelter cat, to use the first floor of their home as a new cat café. This has provided us with a great opportunity to overcome our current difficulties. 

 

However, due to the property’s condition , extensive renovations are required which means we cannot open immediately.

Since it is difficult to raise the substantial funds for repairs right away, we will start a crowdfunding campaign once again.

 

Thanks to the support of so many, we’ve managed to grow, adding more facilities that connect lives. With everyone’s support, even in tough times, we never gave up. It would be grateful if we could come together to realize this challenge, a fresh start for Toto no Mori. 

 

Our vision for the future is “a kind community without animal abuse and abandonment.” To realize that future, the new facility will be essential for our perpetual activities.
