Yu Sugiura focuses on fashion and is active in numerous fields, including advertising, brand catalogs, columns, and celebrity photography. 2016年『かわいすぎる美少年』として芸能界デビュー。2018年『3D彼女 リアルガール』で映画初出演を果たし、以降数々のドラマや映画で活躍する若手個性派俳優。主な出演作は『かぐや様は告らせたい』『殺さない彼と死なない彼女』、ドラマ『シャーロック』『来世はちゃんとします』、Netflix『FOLLOWERS』など。

 

Yutaro made his entertainment industry debut in 2016 as a ‘boy that is too cute and too beautiful.’ In 2018, he made his film debut in 3D Kanojo: Real Girl, and over the past five years, he has appeared in numerous dramas and films as a unique, up-and-coming actor. His most popular works include the films Kaguya-sama: Love is War, He Won’t Kill, She Won’t Die, and the drama series Sherlock, Raise de wa Chanto Shimasu, and FOLLOWERS on Netflix.

▼プロジェクトを立ち上げたきっかけ

あの人をスタイリングしてみたい、と思うのはスタイリストという仕事柄あまり珍しいことではないのですが、あの人の世界を覗いてみたい、と思ったのはゆうたろうさんが初めてでした。

 

　それだけゆうたろうさんが持っている世界観に興味を持ったのか。はたまたゆうたろうさんの人間としての魅力に取り憑かれたのか。その答えを探るために僕はゆうたろうさんにある企画を提案してみました。  

 

　それが365日の日めくりカレンダーで、ゆうたろうさんに僕がスタイリングした365コーディネートを着てもらい、それを僕がすべてフィルムカメラで撮り下ろすという超異例のカレンダーと、そのカレンダーの販売イベント写真展開催というプロジェクトです。

 

日めくりカレンダーのタイトルは

『ゆうたろうってゆったろうって。』

カレンダー販売イベント写真展は

『ゆうたろうってゆったろうてん。』

に決定しました。

 

　これはファッションアイコンとしての地位を確立しているゆうたろうさんと、スタイリストでありながら写真、デザインすべてを1人で行う僕じゃないとできない企画だと思っています。

 

ぜひ1人でも多くの方にこのカレンダーの世界を覗いてみて欲しいと思っています。

▼プロジェクトの内容

タレントのカレンダーというのは作るのがそんなに難しくないと言われています。なぜなら基本的には12ヶ月で12枚の写真と、カレンダーのテンプレートがあれば作れてしまうからです。しかも写真集の未公開カットやカレンダーのために撮影されたものではない写真を使うことも多く、利益率を上げるためカレンダーの撮影にあまり労力と予算をかけないという傾向がみられます。

 

　しかし今回のカレンダーは365日の日めくりカレンダーで365コーディネート、そして全てこのために写真を撮り下ろすという前代未聞とも言えるカレンダー企画です。そのため、普通のタレントカレンダーの予算では到底作れない現実があり、クラウドファンディングを活用して制作費を作るという方法を取らせていただきました。 

 

　そこまでして自分たちで予算を作るということに徹底したのは、どうせ作るなら今後誰にも真似できない、唯一無二で純度の高いカレンダーを作りたい！という僕とゆうたろうさんの強い気持ちがあったからです。どこかの出版社などがスポンサーに入ってくれたら制作はラクになるでしょう。しかしそうなると当たり前ですが利益を出すことが目標になって、本来やりたかったことができなくなる可能性も出てきます。それでは意味がないのです。

　もちろん、今回の企画をやり遂げることは簡単なことではありません。単純に365コーディネートを用意するだけでも大変ですし、それをゆうたろうさんに着せて撮影することは考えただけでも気が遠くなる作業です。そして撮影するには支度場所や撮影場所の確保にかかる費用、ヘアメイクさんの人件費、フィルムカメラの管財費や衣装費などの諸経費もかかってきます。これを可能にさせるのが皆様のご支援です。

 

　普段メディアに出るときはセルフスタイリングが多いゆうたろうさんを、スタイリストである僕が365コーディネート料理したらどうなるか、という無謀とも言える企画ですが、「私服も混ぜたらファンの方が喜んでくれるかも」というゆうたろうさんの優しさで365コーディネートの中にはゆうたろうさんの私服も登場することが決定しました。

 

　そして今回のリターンの中にはなんとその私服をゲットできる券も限定でご用意。こんな機会はもうないかも知れません。 

　

　カレンダーは限定部数での販売です。

ご支援していただいた金額によって前後はあるかもしれませんが、いまのところは500部を予定しています。

 

For a stylist, it’s not unusual to see someone and think “Wow, I’d love to style that person.” Yutaro was a little different–he was the first actor to make me think “I’d like to peek into his world.”

 

Am I that incredibly fascinated with Yutaro’s outlook on the world? Are you that obsessed with Yutaro’s appeal as a human being?To find the answer to those questions, I proposed this project to Yutaro.

 

This time, we’ve started a project to create a day-by-day calendar titled Yutaro is Yutaro, along with a special event in conjunction with the limited item’s release.

 

People think that making a celebrity calendar is easy since you just need twelve photos–one for each of the twelve months of the year. Plenty of photographers just use unpublished shots from photobooks to make it even easier. They don’t go out of their way to spend much on a calendar’s photography, so they make good money without much effort.

 

However, this calendar features Yutaro sporting 365 different looks for the 365 days of the year. All photos were taken exclusively for the calendar project, which is unprecedented. For something so ambitious, there’s no way we could have produced it with the available budget, so we took advantage of the incredible power of crowdfunding.

 

Yutaro and I both desperately wanted to create a calendar that no one else could imitate, and we decided to go to incredible lengths to create our own budget to make this one-of-a-kind item a reality. It would probably be much easier if a publishing company or other sponsors were involved, but they would be more interested in profit. That makes it much more difficult to act freely and do what you want to do–and what’s the point of that?

 

Of course, making this project into a reality wasn’t easy. Preparing 365 different outfits was tough enough, and the idea of putting them on Yutaro and also needing to take photographs was incredibly daunting. There were other expenses involved in taking photos, like securing locations for shoots, the cost of hair and makeup, and the cost of the clothing itself. This was only possible because of everyone’s support.

 

Yutaro often appears in the media wearing clothing he chose himself. I offered to plan all of his outfits for the project, but he told me that the fans might like it if he mixed in some of his favorite pieces, so we decided to do that.

 

Also, we’re offering a limited number of tickets to allow fans to snag some of Yutaro’s personal clothing. This chance may never come again.

 

While we haven’t even finished one-tenth of the shots we need, we’re going to work hard to wrap up our work before the release event at the end of March.

 

The calendar release event, Yutaro is Yutaro, will run from March 29 to March 21 and will be held at A.F. GALLERY on the first floor of ASOBIFACTORY (3-21-8 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo). 365 calendars and never-before-seen snapshots will be on display, and along with the limited number of calendars, other merchandise will also be on sale to the public.

▼プロジェクトの展望・ビジョン

　現在まだ全体の10分の2ほどの撮影しか終了していない状態ですが、1月2月と撮影を重ね、3月末のカレンダー販売イベントには間に合うようなスケジュールで頑張っています。 

 

　1枚1枚写真に合わせて日付文字をデザインし、カレンダーとしてはもちろんですが、分厚い写真集のような雰囲気に仕上げます。

 

販売価格は5,000円（税込）と写真集よりも高い設定になってしまいますが、写真集の3倍ほどあるページ数、全ページ衣装が違うということ、撮影にかかる日数などを鑑みれば皆様にご理解いただけるのではないかと信じています。

 

　こちらが既に撮り終えた写真を使ってのデザインイメージです。（使用する写真、日付は変更になる可能性があります。）
