第13回目はISC66Table6のテーブルチーフを務める、Yuri Kimです！！

 

 

Hello everyone my name is Yuri Kim (Sounds very Korean right?) I'm from Indonesia but I am half korean and Half Indonesian thus the name Kim. I spent most of my life in Indonesia because my father works in Indonesia, even though I moved around a lot. Currently I live in Makassar city, which is in South Sulawesi to finish my DDM degree (I'm in dentistry by the way). I'm currently an intern at Hasanuddin University Dental Hospital (after I finish I will then earn my DDS, now I have a BDS). I always love to spread my wings in things that I find interesting and different from what people think I should be pursuing for example joining MUN, debate, conferences that aren't related to dentistry, and so on.

 

 

My involvement with ISC started last year during the ISC65, I joined table 5 along with Nao, Yuna, Koma, and Helena with Thu as our table chief. Our table topic was Mental Health Care. At that time (until now actually) I was very concerned about mental health especially for teenagers and was beyond delighted to hear that we will be sending our thoughts and possible solutions to the government through our policy proposal. It was very pleasurable that our discussion actually turned into real action by delivering our aspiration directly to the government in such a graceful manner. I am very fond of traveling and one of the countries that I always wanted to visit is Japan (even till now Japan is still one of my favorite countries to re-visit). I was beyond happy to be able to experience Nagoya and Tokyo along with ISC. This year I came back with a topic that I found very concerning. I have been hearing about how working style in Japan seems very uptight and numbers of employees have passed away due to being overworked. As a person who's been very familiar with medical world, I often hear the same thing happens and even experienced being overworked myself. I take this issue personally and wanted to help that's why I chose this topic.

 

I'm beyond excited to experience this whole new ISC66 chapter especially since I saw how this conference continue to grow and develop to be better and better each year. I can't wait to finally meet everyone in Osaka this year 😊
