Iraq Crowdfunding a Huge Success

A big thank you message for everyone who helped

 

On August 12 of this year, the JVC Iraq project launched a crowdfunding campaign to support our activities in Iraq. And amid a severe lack of funding for projects which put children in the heart of it, like ours, we had a great response from people concerned about the future of the children stuck in a war they didn’t choose.

 

The crowdfunding was a roller coaster ride of emotions, it all started 4 days before the launch with me, Iraq project officer, getting hospitalized for pre-term delivery of my baby boy, who is still in the hospital now fighting for his health.

 

With a lot of work on my colleagues to cover up for my sudden absence while still fulfilling their roles in the organization, we were able to receive a little over a million yen in the first week, but then the wave subsided and we were all started to feel worried that we will not achieve our goal at 4 million yen. However, we put our hands together, me helping from home as much as I could, and slowly but surely we started gaining momentum again. And by the end of September, we were able to achieve our first target and move on towards the next.

The crowdfunding ended on October 3rd at 5,628,000 yens surpassing our second goal by more than half a million yens.  

This amazing achievement was not possible without the amazing journalists, activists, and the most outstanding group of supporters who gave away their time and money for this project to achieve what it achieved. Who deserves from us more appreciation than we could ever show.

 

I want to thank all the people who supported our crowdfunding through donations, sharing the information, or publicizing this crowdfunding for everyone to know about it.

Your support meant to us much more than the material means to continue our work for the children of Iraq and to build a better world. Your money and time gave us faith in our work and that we are doing the right thing, it gave us hope and courage and made us more determined to fight the good fight no matter how hard it seems.

 

Thanks to your efforts peace yard activities have started  and you donated time and money is put to change the lives of children who are in dire need for help.
