【ネクストゴールを設定する理由】

１．より多くの方々へ本プロジェクトを知っていただく為

これまで、多くのご支援者様より「もっと多くの方に本プロジェクトを知ってもらえたらいいのに」という温かいお声をいただきました。この機会に、更にプロジェクトの輪を広げ、日本国内のみならず、海外の皆様にもお伝えすることができればと考えています。

２．学期スタート前に、より良い環境を作り上げる為

当初、このように資金が集まるとは想像しておりませんでした。学校スタートに必要最低限の施設（教室とトイレ）のみを建設できればと考えていたのです。その他の施設（教員室等）に関しては、必要とは分かっていながらも、学期開始後に徐々に着工していこうと考えておりました。

しかし、今回、第二目標を設定する機会に恵まれ、後回しにしていた教員室を事前に完成させ、先生達が指導に専念できる場を一日でも早く作ることができればと思いました。

仮にネクストゴールの金額を達成できなかった場合も、自己資金を基に実施はさせていただく予定ですが、皆様からの多くのご支援いただけますと幸いです。

▼自己紹介

東京とマカオのホテルで8年間ゲストリレーションズオフィサー・マネージャーとして務めた後、青年海外協力隊（観光隊員）としてルワンダへ派遣され、現地の職業訓練校（ホテルコース）で2年間教師として活動していました。ルワンダの学生と触れ合う中で、高いポテンシャルを秘めた学生が多いことに気づき、いずれルワンダの教育に従事できればと考えるようになりました。その後、ガーナで2年半過ごし、現在、経営能力を身に付けてルワンダの学生の指導・育成に貢献できればという想いから、大学院でホスピタリティ経営学を学んでいます。同時に、ルワンダ人のカウンターパート（CP）と連絡をとり合いながら、学校建設にも力を注いでいます。（主に、ルワンダ人のCPが現地のオペレーションを担当し、私が調達や財政面等を担当しています。その為、本プロジェクトの資金は、井上理恵が受け取り、実行者であるCPに渡します。）

▼Self-Introduction

After working as a Guest Relations Officer and Manager at hotels in Tokyo and Macau for 8 years, I was dispatched to Rwanda as a Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JICA volunteer) and worked as a teacher for 2 years at a local vocational training school (hotel course). While interacting with Rwandan students, I realized that there are many students with high potential, and I began to think that I could eventually engage in Rwandan education. After that, I spent two and a half years in Ghana, and I studied hospitality management at graduate school in 2021-2022 with the hope that I can contribute to the guidance and development of Rwandan students by acquiring management skills. At the same time, I was in touch with our Rwandan counterpart (CP) and focusing on building schools. (Mainly, Rwandan CP is in charge of local operations, and I am in charge of procurement and finances.)

▼プロジェクトを立ち上げたきっかけ

「教育を通じて、ルワンダ人の秘めた才能を伸ばしたい」そう感じたのは、青年海外協力隊でルワンダに派遣されている時でした。学びを通じて学生が変化していく姿を見ることに、ただただ喜びを感じました。

配属先の職業訓練校では、ホスピタリティー産業への就職を目指す学生達の授業を担当していました。多くの学生が「インターンシップ先を見つけてほしい」「就職先を探してほしい」と要望してくる中、一人の学生が「It’s not your choice to born poor, but it’s your choice to die poor. So hard working leads to success.」というメッセージを送ってくれました。その学生は母親を亡くし、父親は他国の病院に入院しており、祖母と暮らしていました。資金面での援助は出来かねるけれど、努力した分だけ、私も他の形で応えられるように努力するとの旨を伝えますと、その学生は学内でトップの成績を収め、課外での体験トレーニングでも上司から絶賛される程素晴らしい働きぶりを見せてくれました。校長に相談の上、その学生を5つ星ホテルへインターンシップに送り出しますと、総料理長から気に入られ、契約社員として働く機会を得るに至りました。優秀でヤル気のある学生でも経済的な問題から学業の継続が難しく、地元で家族の手伝いをせざるを得ない学生が多くいることに気づきました。「ヤル気のある学生や秘めた才能を伸ばす機会がない学生に何かしらの援助をしよう」私はそう考えるようになりました。

配属先の先生の中に「村に学校を設立し、孤児やストリートチルドレンはじめ、秘めた才能をもった可能性溢れる子供たちに質の高い教育を提供したい」と語る方がいました。今の自分達にできることは何かを話し合い、2人で資金を集め、幼稚園の立ち上げを決意しました（ルワンダでは小学校を建設する前に、幼稚園の立ち上げ・実績が必要となります）。

ルワンダの東部地域ルワマガナから車で約15分の距離にある小さな村（ギシャリ）には公立の小学校はあるものの、遠く離れた家で暮らす子どもは通学することが出来ません。学校へは行かず、家の仕事を手伝う子供が多くいました。「ここに学校を設立したら毎日通学できる子どもが増える！」土地を探し、3部屋を備えた家を借り、ブランコや水タンクを購入し、トイレを建設しました。

▼The Catalyst that I started this project

I felt that I wanted to develop the hidden talents of the Rwandan people through education when I was dispatched to Rwanda as a member of the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV). I just felt joy to see the students change through learning.At the vocational school where I was assigned, I was in charge of classes for students aiming to find employment in the hospitality industry. While many students asked me to find an internship or find a job, one student asked, "It's not your choice to be born poor, but it's your choice to die poor. So hard working leads to success."The student had lost his mother and his father was admitted to a hospital in another country and was living with his grandmother. I told him that I could not provide financial support, but that I would make an effort to respond in other ways as much as I tried, and the student achieved top grades on campus and showed such a wonderful work that his boss praised him even in the extracurricular experiential training.After consulting with the principal, I sent the student to a five-star hotel for an internship, and the executive chef liked him and gave him the opportunity to work as a contractor (Currently he is working as a permanent staff). I realized that even excellent and hard-working students find it difficult to continue their studies due to financial problems, and there are many students who have no choice but to help their families in their hometowns.Let's do something to help students who are willing or don't have the opportunity to develop their hidden talents," I began to think.  One of the teachers I was assigned to said, "I want to establish a school in the village and provide high-quality education to orphans, street children, and other children with hidden talents and full of potential." We discussed what we could do, and we both decided to raise funds and start a nursery school (in Rwanda, we need to start and track record nursery schools before we can build an primary school).A small village (called Gishari) about a 15-minute drive from Rwamagana, the eastern region of Rwanda, has a public primary school, but children living in far-flung homes cannot commute to school. There were many children who do not go to school and help with household work. "If we establish a school here, there will be more children who can commute every day!" We searched for land, rented a house with three rooms, bought a swing and a water tank, and built a toilet.

2018年1月に開園、学校の名称は「子ども達に明るい未来に向かってはばたいてほしい」という想いを込めて【Vision Academy School】としました。初年度は30名の子ども達（3歳～6歳）を受け入れ、翌年度は40名、2021年度は52名の子ども達が入園しました。設立3年目を迎えた2021年、幼稚園を卒園する子ども達の保護者から「小学校を創ってほしい。引き続き子ども達の才能を伸ばしてくれるVision Academyで我が子を学ばせたい」という声を多くいただくようになりました。

Opened in January 2018, we named the school as "Vision Academy School" with the thought that "I want children to fly toward a bright future". In the first year, we accepted 30 children (3 years old ~ 6 years old), and the following year 40 children and in the 2021 academic year, 52 children entered the nursery school. In 2021, the third year of our establishment, we began to receive many comments from parents of children graduating from kindergarten, saying, "I want you to create an primary school, and I want my children to learn at Vision Academy, which will continue to develop their talents."

▼プロジェクトの内容

小学校開校に向け、土地は確保できたものの、建設費用が不足しており、完成に至っていません。保護者らによる積立金や幼稚園の資金で、2021年9月に建設はスタートしたものの、費用が足りず、一時中断している状況なのです。※アフリカでは、手元にある費用で出来るところまで工事を進めるというのが基本です。

完成までにはあと約450万ルワンダフラン（約50万円）が必要となり、この費用が集まれば、来年度が始まる2022年10月までに工事は完了します。一刻も早く小学校開校を望む保護者の声もあり、今回プロジェクトを立ち上げ、資金を募らせていただくことにしました。

▼The contents of this project

Although land was secured for the opening of the primary school, construction costs were insufficient and it has not been completed. Construction began in September 2021 with the help of a reserve fund from parents and nursery school, the total cost was insufficient and the situation was temporarily suspended. * In Africa, it is basic to proceed with construction to the point where it can be done with the cost at hand.It will take another 4.5 million Rwandan francs (about 500,000 yen) to complete, and if this cost is collected, the construction will be completed by October 2022, when the next fiscal year begins. There are also voices of parents who want to open a nursery school as soon as possible, so we decided to launch this project and raise funds.

▼プロジェクトの展望・ビジョン

小学校（教室３部屋とオフィス、トイレ、校庭）が建設され次第、低学年（P1～P3＝日本の1年生～3年生）の募集を行い（既に入学を希望している学生が約50名います）、授業を開始します。同時に、村の孤児やストリートチルドレンの受け入れも実施し、英語による質の高い教育を提供します。

その後、高学年（P4～P6＝日本の4年生～6年生)の教室建設も進め、継続して学びを深められるような環境を築いてまいります。

子ども達一人一人の才能を伸ばし、夢に向かって邁進する学生を一人でも多く輩出できるよう、優秀な教師陣でサポートしてまいります。

いずれは、中学校、高校、職業訓練コースを設立し、ルワンダ人の秘めた能力を生かすべく、人材発掘を続けてまいります。

▼Vision of this project

As soon as the elementary school (3 classrooms, office, toilet, school grounds) is built, we will recruit students from lower grades (P1 ~ P3 = Japan 1st ~ 3rd grade) (there are about 50 students who already want to enroll) and start classes. At the same time, we will also accept orphans and street children from the village and provide high-quality education in English. After that, we will also proceed with the construction of classrooms for the upper grades (4th ~ 6th grade students in P4 ~ P6 = Japan) and build an environment where students can continue to deepen their learning.We will support each child with an excellent team of teachers so that we can develop the talents of each child and produce as many students as possible who are striving to achieve their dreams.Eventually, we will establish junior high schools, high schools, and vocational training courses, and continue to search for human resources to make the most of the hidden abilities of Rwandan people.
