I used to work for CATSWELCARE as a staff. What I realized through my experience was that, even with limited funding, personnel, space, and time, every staff member was dedicated to saving cats in need. Every day brings new challenges—sometimes we get urgent rescue calls that require an immediate response, or cats at the shelter become ill and need to be rushed to the vet. There are even times when we have to separate some cats from other cats and reassign them to different rooms to prevent them from fighting each other (capturing wary cats is no easy task...).
Moreover, I’ve learned that this kind of organization have no choice but to rely on donations to address these resource shortages, even as the concept of NPOs or making contributions to society through donations isn’t yet common here in Japan compared to other countries. While some animal organizations have a blanket policy of declining new rescue requests due to the lack of staff and funds, CATSWELCARE, despite facing same problems, is committed to carefully considering each case. They never give up on finding a way to save cats in need.
Although all I can do to achieve their goal is just make a donation, I have high hopes for this cat-loving organization to make a difference and bring happiness to as many cats as possible. I truly hope for their success!!
