My dear friend Gon Matsunaka has started a new project in his hometown Kanazawa. And together with all of us, we are striving to make this dream come true.  [Creating a creative hub for LGBTQ+ and diverse people to gather!]. We were blessed to given the opportunity to rent this machiya and have decided to preserve the historical architecture and atmosphere as much as possible by repairing and reusing existing building. Preserving the physicality and character of an area with the aim of creating a permanent place where LGBTQ+ and everyone can gather in their own way and feel safe. 

 

We hope to create a space for ALL; from LGBTQ to creative creator to home to children and people who want to visit Kanazawa.  It is our drive to have everyone to be involve in creating a town where people can live comfortably regardless of issues. Gon wishes to create a permanent place where people can get together regardless of their ethics, gender, identity, and other differences.

 

I met Gon 3 year ago accidently (Beautiful fate brought us together) in a café downtown Kanazawa. We connected, we chatted a lot, and we realized we share the same vison to give back for LGBTQ. He is a kind soul who wants to do more for the community. He is always leaping on for more to contribute. This project is a key to the future, it has always been Gon’s  core of who he is and plays a role in every aspect to create impact and value in this.

 

We are currently crowdfunding, This crowdfunding project aims to raise funds for the renovation of Kanazawa Machiya Houses, but we are struggling.  We have another 56% to reach the goal until 30th October. I would like to ask for everyone’s support, please help to pass around. We may not find the need, but someone do. Please lend us a hand to make this dream come true.
