How to Support by Credit Card

 

To Preserve and Utilize the Precious Cultural Properties: Kyu Furukawa Residence( Former Furukawa Residence) and Akagane Goten

 

The Otani Museum Public Interest Incorporated Foundation is responsible for the maintenance and management of the Western-style building in the  Former  Furukawa Residence in Kita-ku, Tokyo, and the Important Cultural Property, the Former Isono Residence (Akagane Goten, or Copper Place) in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo. These remarkable architectural works, preserved by many hands over the years, are maintained and opened to the public as cultural properties.

 

Although the Otani Museum generates maintenance funds through  tour income, cafe sales, photography, and government subsidies, the situation is inadequate. We strive  to continue protecting this culture, history, and architecture with contributions from those who support our mission.

 

Following last year's efforts, we have launched the third crowdfunding campaign for the operational maintenance costs of the museum's cultural properties. This year, we have added rewards such as afternoon tea, a private tour with tea at a room overlooking the rose garden, and small items inspired by the Akagane Goten fittings, to foster a greater appreciation and enjoyment of these cultural properties.

 

Together with everyone, we aim to firmly hand over cultural properties to future generations. Our museum offers diverse experiences within the buildings, allowing both children and adults  to learn and enjoy history, culture, and art.

Note: The current exterior wall repair work of the  Former Furukawa Residence is being conducted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
