We're fighting against malnutrition by eating termites

 

Hello.
My name is Mr. Shiroari-Man aka Mr.Termite.

 

I'm actively involved in a campaign to improve on malnutrition in the world by eating termites.

 

Our team is now working on a research to help malnourished people around the world and particularly in Africa. There are 800 million people in the world who are malnourished.  There are people in my home country, Kenya, who also face this same problem.

 

It maybe unheard of in a developed country, but there are several people with developmental disabilities due to malnutrition. Nutrients lacking in these poor areas are animal proteins, minerals such as zinc and iron, and vitamins A and B.

 

The question is, how can we solve this problem without relying on food aid or imports?

 

The answer is eating termites.

 

Termites contain all the deficient nutrients such as protein, minerals and vitamins. In 29 countries around the world, 45 species of termites are used in food and medicine. Children can get the necessary nutrition with just one and a half tablespoons per meal.

 

We're trying to expand this amazing termite diet, and to enable us do this, we have launched a crowdfunding project. In collaboration with a local school in Kenya and a research institute in Japan we hope to do more research on this project. 

 

The funds will also be used responsibly for expanding termite diet, sustainable nutrition improvement, and research a stable supply of termites.
