Stone Garden in Myoukan-ji

Myokan-ji Temple has launched a crowdfunding campaign for the maintenance of its temple building in preparation for the 650th anniversary of Mimyo-daishi's death. This is the second attempt.
The first attempt was to raise funds for the restoration of the stone garden behind the Founder's Hall.
The stone garden has not been well maintained, as you can see in this photo, the entire area was covered with moss and in a state of disrepair.

The moss was removed. But the color of the white sand had deteriorated after years of being covered with moss and soil. We decided to purchase new white sand and put it in.
We were able to receive enough donations to cover the necessary amount.
The stone garden of Myokanji Temple has thus been restored to its beautiful appearance of yesteryear.

The 650th anniversary of Mimyo-daishi's death is scheduled to be celebrated in 2027.
High Priest of Myoshin-ji Temple, Kyoto, and other Dharma relatives and guests will be able to view the stone garden.
