Introduction

We are the Kouwa-kai, a social welfare corporation that has been supporting the elderly, people with disabilities, and children in and around Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture, for about 24 years.

We provide employment support for people with disabilities, facilities for the elderly, and after-school day services for children, building an environment of mutual support within the community.

Our team of specialists is dedicated to meeting the needs of all generations, offering support that aligns with each individual's desires and aspirations.

Our mission is to always provide care that resonates with the thoughts and wishes of our users, supporting them to age gracefully and happily.

The Reason for Launching Our Project

In our community, there's a need for a safe haven for the elderly and those with dementia, especially those affected by disasters.

Especially for those forced into evacuation, receiving support within their familiar local area is crucial for maintaining a sense of security and belonging. However, existing facilities are nearly at capacity, leaving many families in distress.

Our project was initiated following an incident where someone evacuated to a different region, worsened in health, and returned to Noto seeking reassurance. The earthquake damage and the unfamiliar surroundings exacerbated their condition, but finding refuge in our facility allowed them to breathe a sigh of relief.

Many people share similar concerns.

However, with our current facilities alone, it's becoming difficult to accommodate all the elderly who need such support.

To provide continuous support to them and to preserve community welfare, we aim to establish temporary welfare facilities. With this new initiative, we hope to strengthen the support system within the community and continue to protect a community where everyone can live in peace.
