【応援メッセージ Vol.１】Peter MacMillan様（杏林大学 教授）

Peter MacMillan（アーティストとしての雅号は「西斎」）
翻訳家・研究者・詩人・アーティスト。
杏林大学や東京大学で教鞭をとりながら、
アーティストとしても活動するなど、
教育・文化・芸術と幅広い分野で活躍。

Recently I met Keitaro Kumehara 
at the Meijinsen tournament at Oomi Jingu. 
The battle for the championship started at 10 am
and ended at night. 
Mr Kumehara showed great stamina
and courage to win the chamionship. 

But his other great passion is education. 
He wishes to raise up many young students
and teach them English　
with the same passion he has for being a champion. 

I feel sure he will succeed.

粂原さんと直近でお会いしたのは、
（2020年1月11日に）近江神宮で行われた
競技かるたの名人位防衛戦の日でした。

結果、粂原さんは名人位の防衛に成功したのですが、
なんとその試合は午前10時に始まり
勝負が決したのは日も落ち切った夜のことで、
その驚異的なスタミナと名人位防衛にかける
気概は見事なものでした。

そして彼は同時に教育者でもあります。

英語指導によって世界に羽ばたく人材を
輩出することにかける彼の熱い情熱は、
「名人位に就位する」という偉業に対するそれと
勝るとも劣らないのです。

そんな粂原さんであればきっとこの目標を
成し遂げてくれるだろうと私は信じています。
