『OHINERI』A project to raise the hourly wages of international students

"I want to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to find employment."
"I want to work in Japan. I wish to work in a Japanese company"

International students have come to Japan harboring big hopes and dreams for a bright future.
Yet, they are currently caught in a bind.

International students in Japan are not allowed to work more than 28 hours a week under the conditions of the Permission to Engage in Activity Other than that Permitted by the Status of Residence Previously Granted.
To make things worse, 30% of international students have lost their part-time jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, while others have had their working hours or hourly wage reduced.

As it is becoming increasingly difficult for these students to continue their studies in Japan, they are in urgent need of assistance. Therefore, we launched a project to raise the hourly wages of international students in Japan.

『OHINERI』

This project aims to support the livelihoods of international students through raising the hourly wages of those who perform well in their part-time jobs.
(aka Hourly Wage Increment Program)

The employer will first be asked to evaluate the performance of the international students and extra wages will be given accordingly.
Evaluation will be done in the form of 5 grades from S to D, and the results will be used to apply for an increase in hourly wage.
For an S grade, an increment of 500yen/hour will be given. Therefore, a student with an hourly wage of 1,000 yen will be awarded a pay raise of 1,500 yen/hour.

Through the evaluation of their work performance, we would like international students to realize the joys of working.
We hope that the joys of working they experience in their part-time jobs will become the motivator for them to stay on and seek employment in Japan.
We also hope that through this project, Japanese companies will realize the potential of foreign talents and that this will help to increase the employment rate of international students in Japan.

This project is supported by Osaka Prefecture and The Murakami Family Foundation.

Donations will go completely towards supporting international students, including operational costs.
If the crowdfunding target is exceeded, even more international students will be able to receive help.

Let us save as many students as possible from poverty.
Let us help each international student in continuing their studies in Japan.
