≪Our Mission≫

Our mission is to collect handprint  art from around the world, and create one huge piece of artwork for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics!

 

The handprints we are gathering are those made by physically or mentally challenged children, their family, friends and supporters. We will combine all the handprint art into one huge piece of artwork, and reveal this at the opening ceremony of the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games.

 

Our goal is to get handprints from 100,000 people worldwide!

 

We have already gathered handprint art from 10,000 people, but we still have a long way to go.

In order to reach the 100,000 goal, we have begun cloud funding and have sponsored Karen Miyazawa, a high school student from Ogasawara Island in Japan, to travel the world collecting handprints. She will travel for a year (25 Mar 2017 – Mar 2018) starting at Rio de Janeiro, the host city of the most recent Olympic Games. From there, she will travel to around 20 countries gathering handprints and building a social network of handprint contributors and supporters.

 

≪Donations≫

In order to collect handprints from as many people as possible, money provided through donations from supporters will be used to fund personnel and other costs needed to manage and promote the above movement.
