今日は、岩手県出身のゆうちゃんをご紹介します！

 

約１年前に加入し、まもなくして、オペレーション・マネージャーとしての重役を任されたユウちゃんですが、とても面倒見が良く、チームのまとめ役として活躍しています。

 

ユウ：ＧＦＡのおもろいところ４点

１） 変わった人たちの集まりで、一応ちゃんと農業ができていること。南三陸の田舎町で、農業経験者がいないなか、金髪のギャルママとか顔面ピアスの日本人とか、目が青い外国人とか、統一感のないいろんな人達が野菜を作るために土いじりしてる。農業英会話スクールみたいでおもしろい。

 

２）地元の方との交流が多くておもしろい。ホテルで９ヶ月間働いてスタッフ以外の地元との交流はゼロだったのに、ＧＦＡにきてからは仮設のおばちゃんとか地主さん達とか、とにかく年配の地元の人との交流が増えた。作業場にふらっと来て、手伝いながら世間話して町内放送がなると帰るおばちゃん達。おもしろい。でも、そんな地元の人たち、最初はＯＧＡがなかなか見ない人種ばかりだったから、こわくて、『あんまり近寄らない方がいい』と言い合ってたらしい。。。今では呼ばなくても寄ってくるのに、、、。(T_T)

 

３）野菜の収穫、選別の難しさにびっくり。消費者から生産者になったことで、野菜作りの難しさや収穫時の感動を味わえた。キュウリの１００箱超え出荷には興奮した～。けど朝４時半出勤はツラすぎる。ホントにつらい。

 

４）野菜の病気が発覚したときの絶望感。せっかく消毒とか追肥とかしてるのに、なんで病気になるんだよ！って腹が立つ。けど、病気になった野菜もかわいそうだから、なんとも言えない悲しみに包まれますね。

 

 

Today, we'd like to introduce you to our lovely staff member, Yuko from Iwate Prefecture!

 

Yuko joined the team about a year ago. Soon after she started working for the project, Yuko was assigned as an operation manager. She is a great care-taker and an excellent coordinator of the group.

 

Yuko’s comment: 4 facts that make Green Farmers Miyagi interesting

 

1) Green Farmers Miyagi consits of unique individuals. None of us has any experience in farming, yet we somehow manage to grow vegetables. Our group has a bleached-blond haird young Japanese mother, a Japanese guy with facial piercings, a blue-eyed foreigner, etc. It doesn’t seem like we have anything in common, but we all enjoy playing with dirt to grow vegetables. It’s like “Farming + English language school,” and I’m having so much fun.

 

2) We often interact with the local people, and they always make our day a fun one. When I was working at a hotel here, I hardly talked to any of the locals, except for the Green Farmers Miyagi staff, but since I joined Green Farmers Miyagi project, I’ve been getting to know many local people including aunties from the temporary housing units, the landlords, and many eldery people in town. They come by our site, chat with us while helping us with some work, then go home when they hear an announcement from the neighborhood broadcasting speaker. They are fun to be around with! But I heard that many of those local people used to be afraid of O.G.A. members and tried to avoid us because we looked very different from anybody around the town. Unlike before, they now visit us frequently even if we don’t call them!

 

3) Harvesting and selecting vegetables were much harder than I expected. Now that my position has changed to a producer from a consumer, I was able to experience both a difficulty in growing vegetable and an excitement when harvesting them. I was so hyped when we produced over 100 boxes of cucumbers! Still, starting work at 4:30 a.m. never gets any easier! It’s just unbearable...sigh!

 

4) Deprivation that I felt when we found a disease on some vegetables. I was so upset, and I wondered why those vegetables caught a dieases after spraying vegetables with pesticides and using additional fertilizer. But at the same time, I felt pretty sad and sorry for those poor vegetables too.
