I study International Relations at the Academy of Journalism and Communication.

 

Q: What is your role at ISC67?
Academics

 

Q: What made you want to join ISC67, and what are your goals as a part of the organization? What is it like to work at ISC67 so far?

The number one reason why I joined ISC67 is because of the people organizing last year's conference. When I was a participant of ISC66, I was totally amazed by the energy and enthusiasm of the committee members towards us, even in such a hard time as the pandemic disrupted the normal ISC. 

 

And now, being a committee member myself totally exceeds my expectations. At first, I wanted to pick up some office skills and get more experience in working in an organization, but the more I work here, the more I learn about many different cultures, languages,... and build great relationships with ISC-ers  ;D

 

This year, again, everything is mostly online, which causes us some unavoidable problems, but our bond will defeat them all. I hope we will be able to hold a successful conference to make people aware of the world’s issues right now, and together we will break all kinds of boundaries to tackle them. 

 

Q: What is the one word that describes yourself? Why did you choose this word?
“Curious” - I think the word  'curious' describes me well. To me, my curiosity is the thing that keeps me motivated in life, it makes me question why things the way they are, why people do what they do,... and that's probably also the reason why people wonder why I know about various things :D well it's just that I'm genuinely a little more curious :)

 

Q.What is your enthusiasm for this crowdfunding challenge and upcoming ISC67 main conference?

 

Each year, ISC takes initiative in inviting students from all around the world to come to Japan and discuss solutions to world issues in the Main Conference. This year, the pandemic has caused a lot of difficulties in the preparation of the conference. Nonetheless, we ISC67 unite as a committee despite all kinds of boundaries to make this platform a reality. As a person in charge of managing the tables whose Table chiefs guide participants throughout the conference, I believe that with the help of crowdfunding, our hard work will pay off. The financial support from all of you will help not only us in achieving our mission of 'contributing to the realization of world peace' but also youth as future leaders of this world to raise their voice and take action in improving our lives.

Q: ISC67に入ろうと思ったきっかけや、組織の一員としての目標を教えてください。これまでISC67で働いてきた感想もお願いします。

ISC67に参加した一番の理由は、昨年のISCの運営メンバーたちの存在です。ISC66に参加していた時は、パンデミックの影響で通常のISCが中断された大変な時期だったのにもかかわらず、実行委員の方々の参加者の私たちに対するエネルギーと熱意に驚かされました。

 

そして今、私自身が運営になったことで、その期待以上のものを感じています。最初は事務的なスキルを身につけて、組織の中で働く経験を積みたいと思っていましたが、ここで働けば働くほど、様々な文化や言語を学び、ISCの方々との素晴らしい関係を築くことができました。

 

今年もまた、すべてがオンラインであるため、やむを得ない問題が発生することもありますが、私たちの絆で乗り越えていきたいと思います。今、世界が抱えている問題を知ってもらうための会議を成功させて、(理念にあるように) あらゆる境界線を越えて、一緒に取り組んでいきたいと思います。

 

Q: 自分を表す言葉を教えてください。なぜこの表現を選んだのですか？
"好奇心" - "好奇心"という言葉が私をよく表していると思います。私にとって、好奇心は私の人生のモチベーションを維持するものであり、物事がなぜあるのか、なぜ人は自分たちがすることをするのか...と興味を抱かせます。:)
