This project is the first phase of the project "Let's create a treatment program specializing in eating disorders in Japan!" I need your support to publish my first book talking about my own experience as a nurse and a patient both in Japan and the US. 

 

Production will be promoted from now on aiming for publication in May 2020.

 

So far, I have been publishing translated books, but they have been categorized as medical specialties and have not been seen by many general publics.

 

 

When I talked about a treatment program for eating disorders in the US, many Japanese people answered that "the medical cost in the US is expensive, so it can be done, or because there are a lot of human resources there. On the other hand, It is not possible in Japan".

 

In the area where the national insurance system is involved, I felt so powerless and hopeless. I was thinking to almost give up.

 

But if there is a great system of the society, crowdfunding, I wanted to try to see IF THIS IS POSSIBLE. 

 

By the support and cooperation from everyone, I believe that  we will be able to offer a wonderful environment where patients and their families can receive treatment for eating disorder in Japan in the near future.

 

 

This time, I am asking for the support of the publication of the book as the first project, but my final goal is to create facilities and programs where anyone can receive treatment for eating disorders with peace of mind. 

Eating disorders often occur first in adolescence. If this disease is left untreated, it will not cure naturally. Rather, it is likely to get worse. It is a disease that can and does kill people. I do not want this illness to destroy the potential of the important children and young people who will be responsible for the future of Japanese society. 

I hope to educate the general public to understand that eating disorders are serious diseases, that they need treatment, and that they can recover completely. 

For all the health care workers, I want to emphasise the goal of treating eating disorders and helping people to live fully involves more just gaining weight, reducing weight, just eating and not eating.
