コロナ禍に加え治安の課題も重なり、女子生徒を多数集めての活動は想像以上の困難が立ちはだかりました。このような中、ようやくご支援を現地教育に繋げ皆様にご報告できることを有り難く思います。
本日は、Lompoがまとめた最終報告を和訳してお届け致します。
Lompoが想いを込めて立ち上げ、皆様のご支援によって息が吹き込まれたNGO団体であるEdukgirlsを、引き続き見守って頂けますと幸いです。

Because of the deteriorated public security in addition to COVID-19, our activity with a large number of schoolgirls was much more difficult than we had imagined. I am grateful that we can report your support is finally delivered for education in Burkina Faso under such circumstances.
Today, I would like to share with you the final report, made by Lompo and translated into Japanese.
We would be happy if you could continue to see the activities of Edukgirls, the NGO that was launched by Lompo with hope and breathed life into by your support.

ブルキナファソの現状
同国では、地元住民に対する無差別攻撃により100万人以上が避難を余儀なくされており、その数は増加の一途を辿っています。国内避難民(IDP)が直面する問題としては、食糧難、医療や教育などのサービスに対するアクセスの制限などが挙げられます。国内の多くの地域は「危険地帯」と呼ばれ、そうした地域に対し国家は統制を失っています。現在ブルキナファソでは何百万人もの子どもたちが学校に通えなくなっています（大多数が女子）。下の地図は、ブルキナファソの現状を良く表しています。私たちは、地元政府が国際的なパートナーと協力して、持続可能な平和を見出すことができるようになることを望んでいます。
はじめに
一年前、私たちのプロジェクトはまだ私の頭の中の考えに過ぎませんでした。まさか、このような大きな成功を収めることになるとは思いもよりませんでした。この場をお借りして、ご協力いただいた皆様にお礼を申し上げたいと思います。私たちのコミュニティの避難民の子どもたちが質の高い教育を受けられるようにという皆様の想いが、選ばれた100人の少女たちに大きな変化をもたらしています。プロジェクトが完了した今、ここに活動報告をお届けします。お時間が許す限り、是非私たちの活動をご覧ください。プロジェクト実施のための各ステップは以下の通りです。
女子生徒の家族、学校責任者との面談
このクラウドファンディングはブルキナファソ東部のFada N’GourmaとDiapagaという地域のIDPの支援を目的としています。Fada N’Gourmaでは、IDPはとても厳しい環境で生活しています。通常、国内避難民とその家族のためのキャンプは存在するものの、全ての人がキャンプに入れるわけではありません。彼女たちのことを知るために、私たちはその家族を訪ねました。訪問の目的は、彼女たちが家庭でどのように勉強しているのか、また、家庭の経済状況などを確認することです。家庭訪問は選考に役立ちました。
最終決定に際し、学校責任者の協力を得て最も弱い立場にある少女たちを特定しました。
戦略
Fada N’Gourmaで、私たちと同じ目的を持つ地元のNGOと連絡を取りました。また、人道問題省の担当者にもIDPの特定を支援頂きました。そうした協力により、多くのIDPに接触することができました。そしてFada N'Gourmaに会場を設け、400人以上の少女に会い選考を行いました。面談は現地語とフランス語で行われました。少女たちは全員、身元確認のためのアンケートに回答しました。このアンケートで彼女たちの生活状況や教育レベル、期待を知ることができました。現在選考は終了しています。
直面した困難
地域の治安の脅威等の困難がありました。事実として攻撃は増え続け、国内避難民の数も増えています。現在、国土の一部は正体不明の武装集団の支配下にあります。このような状況では活動を自由に行いにくくなります。また、国内避難民の女子を学校に受け入れるよう、現地の学校を説得するのも難しい状況です。実際、多くの学校責任者によると、国内避難民の女子は他の生徒（市内に住んでいる生徒）と同じ環境で学ぶのは難しいそうです。
安全のために、私たちは一定の活動を延期することがあります。
公開教育
2021年8月16日から18日にかけて、少女とその家族を対象とした公開授業を行いました。女子教育の重要性、特に女子が国内避難民であることの危険性などを話しました。また、9月15日、16日には、女子生徒を対象に、コロナ予防の教育を行いました。
学校との話し合い
女子生徒が通える学校を見つけるため現地の学校と連携しました。打ち合わせは2021年7月（21、22日）と8月（16、17、18、19日）に行われました。その他の一連の打ち合わせは9月と10月にFada N’Gourmaで少女たちのみと一緒に行われました。学校責任者と建設的な議論をし合意に達しました。100人の少女たちは、幸運にも勉強できる場所を見つけ、有望な将来を手に入れることができました。選考後、Edukgirlsは少女たちの学費を直接支払っています。学校責任者たちは、彼女たちの教育のために尽力してくれています。今後、私たちは時々学校を訪れ、彼女たちの成績を聞き評価したいと考えています。
まとめ
これまでの活動はEdukgirlsがFada N'GourmaとDiapagaの地域コミュニティと協力して行いました。現在学費の支払い、選考も終了しています。10月下旬より全ての奨学金が彼女たちに配分されておりますので、最終報告をお送りします。今後数ヶ月間、このプロジェクトの影響に関する最新情報をお届けしますのでご期待ください。あなたが仲間にいるからこそ彼女たちは何でもできるのです。近々皆様にお送りする短いビデオを作成中です。
夢と将来の目標
選考が終わり全ての女子がそれぞれの学校に配置された今、次の動きを考えています。将来的には、彼女たちにIT教育を行うセンターを作る予定です。ITに触れることで、彼女たちの現在と未来の生活に良い影響を与えることができると信じています。
説明
- 奨学金：プロジェクトの最重要部分は少女たちに支給する奨学金です。当初全ての学校の金額を把握しておらず、見積もりに比べ金額を抑えることができました(1人2万円→1.24万円)。
- 通信費：Fada N'GourmaとDiapagaのチームとの連絡がプロジェクトの成功には非常に重要でした。WhatsAppや、多くの場合電話など、利用可能な連絡手段を利用しました。
- 交通費：通常は公共交通機関を利用するのが一般的です。しかし治安悪化のため公共交通機関利用は少なくなっています。最終的には自家用車を利用しました。
- 翻訳・通訳費：現地の人とコミュニケーションを取るために翻訳補助が必要でした。実際、東部ではGourmancema語、Moore語、Fulfulde語などが一般的な言語として使われています。そこで翻訳補助頂ける方々に費用を払いました。
- その他：その他プロジェクトに関する費用は、印刷や講義、現地チームの経費等の事務費用です。
Explanations
- Scholarships: The most important part of this project is delivering the scholarship for the girls. We did not know the exact amount in all the schools at first, but it turned cheaper than estimated (20,000 yen→12,400 yen per person).
- Communication: The communication between myself and my team in Fada N’Gourma and Diapaga was very essential to the success of the project. We used the available means of communication such WhatsApp and most of the time phone calls.
- Transportation: In normal situations, public transportations are commonly used. But with the level of insecurity, we have less and less public transportations. We ultimately used private cars.
- Translation/Interpretation: To be able to communicate with the local people we needed some help for translation. In fact, in Eastern the common languages are Gourmancema, Moore, Fulfulde and others. We then paid some people to assist with the translation.
- Others: Other costs related to the project include administrative fees such as copy printing, lectures, and expenses of the local team.
Final Report
Current situation of Burkina Faso
Indiscriminate attacks against local populations in the country have led to the displacement of more than a million people and this number keeps increasing. Among the challenges IDPs face we can name food insecurity, limited access to services like health and education. Many parts of the country have been described as “zone of risks” and the state has lost the control of those parts. Currently millions of children in Burkina Faso can no longer go to school (mostly girls). The map below describes best the current situation in Burkina Faso. We hope the local government in collaboration with the international partners will be able to find sustainable peace.
Introduction
One year ago, our project was still just an idea in my mind. I did not know that we will meet this huge success. We will like to take our time to thank all our contributors, because without your assistance, this project would not be successful. Your willingness to help displaced children in our community have an education of quality makes all the difference for the hundred girls selected. Now that the project is completed, we are sending out the activity report. We hope you could some time to go through our activities. Below are the different steps we went through for the implementation of the project.
Meetings with the girls’ families and schools’ managers
As you all know the crowdfunding was aimed at assisting IDPs (internally displaced people) in Eastern Burkina Faso namely Fada N’Gourma and Diapaga. In Fada N’gourma, IDPs live in such difficult conditions. Normally, some camps do exist for IDPs and their families but not all of them are lucky enough to get a camp. To get to know all the girls, we have visited their respective families. During those visits, our objective was to discover how the girls study at home, also we wanted to see the family financial situation. The family visits helped us with the selection.
To make the final decision, we had the assistance of the school managers to identify the most vulnerable girls.
Our strategies
In Fada N’Gourma city, we have contacted some local NGOs who have the same objectives like us. Also, the representatives of the ministry of humanitarian affairs have helped us with the identification of the IDPs.Thanks to their collaboration we were able to reach many IDPs. We then set up a site in Fada N’Gourma where we met more than 400 hundred girls for the selection. The meetings were held in local languages and French. All the girls answered a questionnaire for identification. Thanks to the questionnaire, we could know the girls’ living conditions, education level and their expectation. The selection is now fully completed.
Difficulties encountered
Some of the difficulties have been the insecurity threat in the region. In fact, the attacks keep increasing and the number of IDPs too. Currently, some parts of the country are under the control of unidentified arm men. This situation makes it though to do freely our activities. Also, it has been difficult to convince the local schools to accept internally displaced girls in their schools. In fact, according to many school managers, internally displaced girls do not have the same as the other students(those who live in the city).
For our own security, we sometimes postpone certain activities.
Public education
From August 16 to 18, 2021, we held some public education with the girls and families. We talked about the importance of girls’ education, hazards of being an internally displaced person mostly girls. Also, in September 15 and 16, we had some training on covid prevention with the girls.
Discussion with the schools
To find schools for the girls, we have collaborated with the local schools. The meetings took place on July (21 and 22) and August (16,17,18,19) 2021.Other series of meetings was conducted in September and October in Fada N’Gourma with the girls alone. After some constructive discussions with the schools’ managers we had some agreements. All the 100 girls have been lucky to find places where they can study and have a promising future. After the selection, Edukgirls has paid directly the school fees for the girls. The school managers are all engaged to help with the girls’ education. In the future, we will occasionally visit the school to get their results in order to make some good evaluation.
Conclusion
The previous activities have been conducted by Edukgirls in collaboration with the local communities in Fada N’Gourma and Diapaga. For now, the school fees have been paid and the selection is over. Since the end of October, all the scholarships have been allocated to the girls and you will receive our final report. Keep an eye out for updates on the impact of this project in the coming months and thank you again for your generous support. Our girls can do anything because YOU are part of it. We are working on some short videos that we will send you in the near future.
Our dreams and future goals
Now that the selection is completed and all the girls placed in their respective schools, we are thinking of our next move. In the future, we will create a center to train the girls in IT. We believe that, giving access to IT, will hugely impact their current and future lives in a positive way.
